A Wonderful Coastal Retreat!
Our family of four had an amazing stay at Madeira Ocean Park Villa in Sechelt. Michelle and her husband are warm, welcoming, and truly go above and beyond to make guests feel at home. The villa is peaceful, beautifully kept, and perfectly situated for enjoying the natural beauty of the Sunshine Coast.
One of the most memorable parts of our trip was the fishing charter they hosted. We caught plenty of fish and had a fantastic time out on the water. Their hospitality and local knowledge made the experience both fun and relaxing.
This is a perfect spot for families looking to unwind, explore, and enjoy the ocean. We left feeling refreshed and grateful—and we’ll definitely be back!

This resort is filled with sunshine and blooming flowers. It is spacious, with many rooms and complete facilities. It’s a perfect place to quietly enjoy living close to nature. There are also several boats available for sea fishing. Captain Simon is a wonderful, experienced, and genuine person. Both he and his wife are warm, generous, and hospitable. We spent a joyful three days here participating in group activities, and we are truly grateful!

Stayed at the resort for a few days with a large group of friends. The property and outdoor spaces are gorgeous. Additionally, the rooms and kitchen are clean and spacious. Went on the fishing excursion, and had an amazing time. The guides were friendly and hospitable.

Each room in the resort was very comfortable and welcoming. My group had an amazing stay with great food and the views were beautiful. I would recommend this to any group who wants to see British Columbia ‘s coast.

As our first time to Sunshine Coast, Simon made us feel very welcomed, showing us everything the resort had to offer. This was an excellent vacation for me and my friends. We stayed at the villa, chartered a boat for fishing, and enjoyed the MANY other amenities such as their tennis court and hot tub. Our accommodations were clean and well outfitted. Simon, Jonny, and all the other staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable about the fish/local landscape. Overall felt like a 5 star resort. I would easily recommend this place to my friends and family.

Stayed at this resort for 3 days with a group of 8 friends. The bedrooms, kitchen and living areas are perfectly clean, spacious and comfortable. There was plenty of space and more for our whole group inside the main house, as well as a stunning backyard area on the water. We spent time on the lawn, in the hot tub and by the fire. It was beautiful! I would absolutely recommend this to everyone I know and I hope to come back soon.

It sounds like a dreamy destination! If I were on the Sunshine Coast, I wouldn’t miss this fantastic place. With a private pier, a large self service kithen, BBQ facilities, tennis courts, and friendly hosts, along with the opportunity to go fishing on their yacht, it’s truly irresistible. This place is sure to leave a lasting impression and provide a wonderful time for anyone visiting for a vacation.

Spent a weekend with some friends at this beautiful property a few weeks ago. The rooms were spacious and clean, the hosts were friendly and attentive and the entire property was well equipped for a wonderful vacation. Would especially recommend going fishing if you have the opportunity.
10/10 would recommend to everyone. Can’t wait for the next time I can come back!

Prime location by the water with many outdoor spaces. Hosts were incredibly friendly, helpful, and hospitable. Rooms were fully equipped, appreciated the steaming pots and nut crackers for the seafood!
We went on a fishing excursion and the captain was extremely experienced and knowledgeable, teaching and helping us catch many fish, shrimp, and crabs.
Would happily return!

I’m impressed by the quality of service in this resort. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. Fishing experience is memorable while the accommodations are comfortable. It’s definitely an ideal getaway holiday resort.

The hotel and fishing service are fantastic. Rooms are so clean and well-maintained. Staff are really friendly and patient. Overall is an awesome experience.

Perfect ocean views one bedroom separate kitchen suite. Only an hour or so drive from the Gibson ferry terminal. The host is fantastic and helpful. Sofa bed available in so confutable for 4 people. I highly recommend it!

A cozy weekend at this cabin on the water. Quaint area with beautiful views.

The cottage is in a lovely setting, clean and has plenty of space for a couple. Michelle was great with communication and the villa was easy to find with plenty of parking. Guests should be aware that the balcony is not private and is used by other villa guests accessing the boat launch. This can make the space feel like it lacks privacy and can be noisy if there are many guests going back and forth to boats/kayaks. Beautiful setting, but maybe not as tranquil or romantic as you hope.

We had a great stay and had everything we needed. We loved exploring on the kayaks!

Very good place to go on vacation owner Michelle and Simon are really nice folks. Right by water has bbq hot tub fishing area fire pit lots of things to do around and beautiful view from the rooms. Rooms are spacious and clean. They maintain this place all the time kept nice and clean!! Great place to go all year round!!

Great location! Cozy and sweet. Had easy drive to parks and town, plus the space was pretty private!

Notes for not giving 5 stars:
Some lights were burnt out which was a bother, as there isn’t many lights in the main living space.

As for check in, I got there in the dark and it can be pretty hard to navigate (we couldn’t find the cabin for 10 minutes, looking with our flashlights), so be sure to ask for more detailed instructions on finding the oceanfront cabin on the property if you think you are arriving later.

Beautiful little cove and very well stocked kitchen. Michelle was a great host and very helpful.

Great, quiet, location right on the water.

The view outside the sweet is hard to beat as it really is situated in a beautiful inlet with ocean views. The free kayaks were also a bonus.

The place could use some additional add-ons to make add to the experience. The outdoor furniture is rather shabby and gets soggy when it rained. There was no television (which is okay) but would have really enjoyed some games, cards or books for guests to use to pass the time in the evenings. Lastly, the hot water tank was sufficient for one quick shower, if not used previously for dishes. Definitely not a dealbreaker by any means but something to consider. Garbage should also be secured better on-site as we noticed a bear going through the garbage left out at the main house.

I’d suggest guests bring their own firewood or entertainment as there wasn’t any available on site. The host was away during our stay so perhaps these were available had she been on site.

Overall, was a nice location but could have used more amenities to increase the value for money.

Lovely location

Such a great seaside cabin! We enjoyed coffee on the covered porch in the mornings and it was great being able to use the kayaks. The bed was super comfortable and Michelle was a fantastic host.

We spent two nights in the ocean view cabin. It was so lovely to relax on the deck overlooking the water. There’s a store close to here where we picked up everything for a charcuterie board and wine. We also had a fire in the wood stove. Michelle provided everything we needed to start the fire too! Definitely would stay here again 🙂

Lovely place to stay with family. Place is clean and well taken care of. Can accommodate big groups if renting the separate cabins aside from the main house which only has beds for 12 people. They also do boat tours for Sunshine Coast views and fishing. Host is very kind and there is a caretaker that lives on the property, his name is Andrew, he’s always smiling. Thanks for the memories MPOV.

We stayed for 2 nights, it was a nice cottage, enjoyed eating our meals on deck with view to the lake. Mitchelle is always available to answer questions. Overall we did have a good time. We will come back to this beatiful cottage.

Enjoyed my stay here with my family. The location was good and the owners are very friendly and pleasant, Beds and linens were clean and comfortable. We had so much fun fishing !

The resort was an amazing place to go after a long busy year, the fishing was fun and the fact that I got to experience fishing was mind-blowing. I definitely would go again. 10/10 would recommend trying it.

Great view! Relaxing, comforting and cozy place to stay.

When you go to the Sunshine coast the first and the only focus point would be the Sunshine coast itself. Yet this wonderful place adds to the experience as you can witness the high tide from the window, which is amazing.
Nice spacious terrace, big bed, kayaks and last but not least very friendly host made our stay really nice.

Had a wonderful weekend there with a group of friends. The hosts were very welcoming, the property is beautiful and the accommodations are very comfortable. Would definitely return.

I stayed here with my friends and it was such an amazing place. The owners were super friendly, everything was spacious, comfortable, clean and well decorated. The view to the lake is awesome, with a hot tub and garden area. I would highly recommend checking this place out for a nice vacation getaway!

My friends and I stayed here for a weekend fishing trip and had a wonderful time. It is truly a beautiful, unique and inclusive property! The property itself is large with spacious bedrooms and overall, we found the indoor and outdoor environment to be very well kept and clean. The villa kitchen was equipped with various appliances and tools, useful for cooking all our fished meals. Clean linens, towels and toiletries were available which made packing lighter possible. Although large, the property is very cozy and inviting. There were no issues with privacy with neighbouring properties. The most memorable part of our stay is the stunning water view. A bonus were the many seastars visible in the clear waters and by the dock.

My friends and I stayed here for a couple nights for a fishing trip. We enjoyed the wild, beautiful BC coast with all the modern amenities. Simon, who was one of our hosts, is a very knowledgeable fisherman! We came away with rockfish, shrimp, and crabs, which the hosts helped us cook and prepare for dinner. I definitely recommend this spot if you want to experience fishing in BC and/or want a relaxing getaway.

Beautiful private villa by the water! Spacious and perfect for a quiet getaway. Stayed here for a couple of nights with some friends and the hosts were very accommodating and welcoming. Would definitely recommend!
